Today’s apple slice comes from Psalm 19:1 in the ESV version.
The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims His handiwork.
Have you ever seen a sunset? If you live in Florida, it’s likely you’ve gone to the beach and witnessed the most stunning Painter create a masterpiece on His canvas, the sky. How about a sunrise? Isn’t it amazing how much potential a new day can bring?
The skies- the whole earth and all of nature, really- scream of a Maker, of a Creator. It never fails to astound me that people believe this all poofed by chance. (Note: I hold no disrespect for anyone; I just have my own beliefs.) The wind, rain, mountains, rocks, trees, flowers- all of it exists to show the beauty of God.
So, the next time you’re having a bad day, take time to “smell the roses.” But, really, take time to enjoy the beauty of the moment. Even a thunderstorm can be dangerously beautiful. There is so much beauty to behold. Even in the midst of your own personal struggles, always sees the beauty. It’s there, I promise. God’s whispering to your heart, “Beloved, you are mine, and I love you. Trust me. If I created a such a magnificent world, I can create peace in your heart.”
